Belarus introduced visa-free entry for 80 countries

The press service of the President of Belarus reports that a five-day, visa-free policy has entered into force. The citizens of 80 countries, including the U.S. and the EU will have the right to free entry but on the condition that they arrive via Minsk National Airport.

The decree was signed by President Alexander Lukashenko on January 9 and took effect on February 12.

Among the countries mentioned in the decree there are 39 European countries, including the entire European Union, as well as Brazil, Indonesia, the U.S. and Japan. The visa-free regime was established for countries favorable in terms of the migration, strategic partners of Belarus and states that unilaterally introduced a visa-free regime for Belarusian citizens.

However, the visa-free regime does not apply to those who arrive in Belarus on flights from Russia and who intend to fly to airports in Russia. This is because flights between Belarus and Russia are domestic and border control on them cannot be enforced.
