French industrial group Saint-Gobain will build two plants in Ukraine

The French industrial group, Saint-Gobain, intends to invest 65 million Euros to build two plants for the production of construction materials in the Tlumach district of the Ivano-Frankivsk region, Interfax-Ukraine reported, citing the President of the Ivano-Frankivsk Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Andrew Levkovich. The first facility will specialize in the production of construction mixes and will be completed by the end of 2017.

The construction of the second plant that will produce plasterboard is scheduled for late 2017/early 2018. “Saint-Gobain plans to create approximately 300 jobs. It will be a large complex with one facility producing construction mixes, and the other will conduct the packing, sorting, mixing and production of plasterboard. Both plants will be located near the Khotymyr gypsum deposit,” Levkovich said.

Currently, Saint-Gobain is represented in Ukraine only by an official representative office. All eight enterprises which the company has are in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), and are part of the Russian Federation.
