Russia's Finance Ministry and Central Bank to be tested for readiness to work during wartime

Structural units of the Ministry of Communications and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Federal State Reserve Agency and the Central Bank of Russia will take part in a snap check of federal government bodies and Defense Industry Complex enterprises for readiness to work in wartime, according to the Ministry of Defense.

The military is planning mobilization activities that include “recalling reservists, supplying automotive equipment and forming military units of territorial defense in the Southern and Central military districts and in the Northern Fleet.”

This will be the first time that “issues of financing of troops in isolation from permanent bases within the framework of the snap check” are addressed “with the involvement of the field agencies of the Russian Central Bank.”

Enterprises of the defense industry complex in Southern Russia will also take part in the check. They are tasked with mobilization activities for the supply and repair of weapons and military and special equipment for the purpose of forming brigades.

The Ministry of Defense sent reminders about the experiment of implementing the new system of establishing mobilization reserves. This includes citizens being in reserve as well as “reservists” or those who signed a contract for service in reserve in a particular unit in a particular military position.

The Ministry’s statement concluded that money payments will be provided for the endeavor “after the experimental new system of preparation and accumulation of mobilization and human resources is implemented.”
