NATO is concerned about the large-scale deployment of Russian ships

Russia conducted the biggest deployment of its ships since the Cold War. According to Reuters, this was stated by a high-ranking source in NATO.

Reuters reported that the Alliance believes that the Russian ships near the coast of Norway are being used to transport aircraft that will participate in the battle for the Syrian city of Aleppo. According to Reuter's source, “Russians are deploying all the ships of the Northern Fleet, and most of the ships of the Baltic Fleet”.

In the NATO representative’s opinion, “it could be expected that Russia's airstrikes on Aleppo may intensify in two weeks’ time as part of Russia's strategy to achieve victory in this city”. The Alliance has called this gesture “unfriendly”.

In October, the Northern Fleet’s Admiral Kuznetsov aircraft carrier, followed by other warships, has sailed to the Mediterranean Sea. According to Russia's Defense Ministry, this flotilla also included the Pyotr Velikiy nuclear-powered missile cruiser, as well as the Severomorsk and Vice-Admiral Kulakov large anti-submarine ships.
