Russia: American HIMARS rocket systems are a threat to the Syrian army
Detachments of the "Syrian Democratic Forces" can use the HIMARS multiple rocket launcher systems to attack Syrian government troops, as stated by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
Earlier it was reported that the US military transferred high-mobile HIMARS systems from Jordan to its Al-Tanf base in southern Syria. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the range of HIMARS reactive systems does not allow the provision of cover to the detachments of the Syrian Democratic Forces supported by the US in Raqqa.
"At the same time, the forces of the US-led coalition have repeatedly struck at Syrian government forces operating against ISIL near the border with Jordan. Therefore, it is not difficult to imagine that such attacks on Syrian troops can continue in the future but with the use of the MLRS HIMARS from now on," the Russian Defense Ministry said.
