Russia will not supply China with S-400 systems before 2018

Russia will not supply China with the S-400 before 2018, the CEO of Rostec, Sergey Chemezov, said in an interview with Kommersant.

"We have a rule: first we supply our army with weapons and only after that do we sell them abroad. A lot of our customers are asking us to supply them with arms earlier but we have warned them about the timing of the order from the start," Chemezov said.

As a result, he added that the Chinese army will receive Russian S-400s no earlier than 2018.

Previously it was reported that Russia has deployed the S-400 anti-aircraft missile system at the Hmeymim air base in Syria.
