Ukrainian border guards conduct drills close to border with Crimea

The personnel of the operational-combat border commandant of the Berdyansk squad are conducting training close to the border with the Crimea in the Henichesk region of the Kherson province, the press service of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reported.

The training of the soldiers is being done in order to improve their mastery of firing various types of weapons. The border guards have also worked on elements of tactical medicine.

Additionally, the fighters were deployed in combat ranks, with marching and the rehearsal of holding and defending a certain site. During the column’s movement, the combat patrol was tested through the laying of dummy mine and explosive devices along the column’s route, and drills were done in the form of attempted blocking of the column’s movement by citizens.

On July 10 the international Sea Breeze 2017 naval exercises began in Ukraine. The exercises are being held in the context of the Partnership for Peace according to the bilateral collaboration program between the Ukrainian and US Defense Ministries this year.
