Media: footage of an older missile was used to demonstrate Russia’s new ballistic weapon during Putin's speech

As The Republic news outlet writes, at the demonstration of the newest combat missile Sarmat, during   Russian President Vladimir Putin’s address to the Russian Federal Assembly, segments of a 7-year-old film were shown.

A silo launcher was demonstrated in the footage, from which the Sarmat missile was launched. During the flight, the missile’s payload separates into several warheads.

The video material of Sarmat’s predecessor, the Satan missile, was used for the video presentation. In 2011, Channel One Russia aired the same footage of the missile separating into several warheads.

As Putin stated, the possibilities of Sarmat are practically unlimited. The missile can fly over the north and south poles, and conventional missile defense systems are not capable of intercepting it.
