Poroshenko debates alone at the Olimpiyskiy stadium

President of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, arrived at the National Sports Complex Olimpiyskiy in Kyiv to take part in a debate with the leader of the first round of elections, Volodymyr Zelensky.

Poroshenko said he was ready to wait for Zelensky for 45 minutes. After that, the announcement was made that Poroshenko will be answering questions from the audience. Most of the questions for Poroshenko were related to Zelensky.

Earlier, Zelensky said that a provocation was being prepared against him at the Olimpiyskiy Stadium. In an interview with the Novyny Ukrainy agency, he said that he would not come to the debate on April 14.

“Someday, after all these elections, information will be shared that somebody was preparing a provocation against me at the NSC Olimpiyskiy. I will not go there. I received such secret information. I'm not ready to talk about it now, but when you learn this information, you will understand me,” said Zelensky.

He stressed that he also suspects a provocation in undergoing alcohol and drugs tests along with Poroshenko. "I really did not want to go to the NSC, because of the very simple reason- I did not know what they would do with my test results there."

In the first round, Zelensky scored more than 30% of the votes, and Poroshenko less than 16%.
