Ukrainian President: Kuwait supports the initiative on peacemakers for Donbas

Kuwait supports Ukraine's initiative on a peacekeeping mission to restore peace in the Donbas, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko stated, the press service of the Head of State reports. According to him, Kuwait is a powerful supporter of Ukraine in international organizations.
"We feel Kuwait’s very strong and powerful support in international organizations. Kuwait is now a member of the UN Security Council together with Sweden," the President noted.

He said that, on March 18, 2018, during his visit to Kuwait, he also met with the Speaker of the Parliament of Sweden.

"And two members of the UN Security Council clearly emphasized that they would firmly support the initiative of Ukraine, for the Ukrainian President to make decisions on mandating peacekeepers to restore peace and tranquility in the Donbas, as well as the first security package aimed to restore sovereignty and territorial integrity," Poroshenko reported.

Poroshenko earlier stated that Ukraine’s international partners do not recognize the Russian presidential "elections" in annexed Crimea.
