Poroshenko: most difficult tests are behind Ukraine

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko noted in his celebratory Easter message that the most difficult tests for Ukraine are in the past.

"Resurrection is the victory of life over death, the victory of truth over lies; the victory of light over darkness; the victory of good over evil. This is our victory... This year Easter is a special day, because along with it, there is a certainty that the heaviest tests [for Ukraine] are now behind [us]," Poroshenko said.

The President also spoke about the trip he took to Donbas last week, noting that people in the region are praying for the end of hostilities.

"We celebrate the Feast of the Resurrection of Christ together, and as it is said in the Holy Scripture: one Lord, one faith, one baptism," he said in his speech.

Poroshenko has previously promised that the war in Ukraine would end with Kyiv’s victory.
