President Zelensky calls for end war in Ukraine

In the message of the Ukrainian President Zelensky that was published on his website on the Day of Memory and Sorrow, Zelsnsky said that Ukrainians need to remember the feat of their ancestors who defended the country, as well as to make every effort to prevent the war from becoming a routine for future generations.

The Ukrainian President reminded that early in the morning on June 22, 1941, Kyiv was bombed. "The Second World War broke into our homes and covered the entire territory of Ukraine. It had an impact on every family, every human life. We must remember those terrible years, as well as the feat of those who defended our country. We must do everything so that it does not become a regular aspect of life for the next generations," the President of Ukraine said.

During the election campaign in Ukraine, Zelensky spoke about the plan to end the war in the Donbas, which consists of several stages. Zelensky said that the first step should be a ceasefire. At a meeting with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron, the Ukrainian President said that he was ready to discuss the ceasefire in the Donbas within the framework of the Minsk agreements. He also announced that he is ready to work for the release of Ukrainian prisoners who are held captive in Russia, including detained sailors.
