A spokeswoman for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Maria Zakharova stated that Israeli military actions against Syria threaten the stability of the whole region. Zakharova was referring to the attack on Syrian facilities, which is credited to Israel.
"The escalation of the conflict makes us very concerned. Forceful actions that violate the sovereignty of Syria, not only do not contribute to the normalization of the situation in this country but also carry a threat in which the interests of national security of all of the countries in the Middle East cannot be ensured," said Zakharova, as reported by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to her, this attack was the most large-scale military action of this kind in the region since May 2018.
Earlier, Damascus demanded that the United Nations immediately act against Israel, which, according to the Syrian Foreign Ministry, is responsible for the missile strikes on facilities in the territory of Syria.
On the night of Monday, July 1, a missile attack was carried out against the targets in the Damascus and Homs regions. According to the latest data, 21 people were killed. Syria blamed Israel for the airstrike, but Jerusalem did not comment on these accusations.
