Russia has sent additional military equipment to Syria. According to the blogger Yörük Işık, a Russian cargo ship carrying military equipment has already passed through the Bosphorus Strait .

It is not reported what kind of weapons are on the cargo ship. Experts note that Russia usually sends new weapons to Syria before large operations by Assad's army.

Bashar al-Assad's army is currently preparing for an offensive in the area of Latakia and the al-Ghab Plain. The Syrian government's army plans to reach the key town of Jisr al-Shughur near the Syrian-Turkish border.
