Ukraine to begin production at its new ammunition plant

The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade reported on Facebook that Ukraine will soon establish its own ammunition production thanks to a recently purchased production line.

The Ministry carried out the procedure for purchasing the production line for shells and cartridge cases of 100-155 mm caliber within the framework of the program of the development of ammunition production.

"In addition, we are planning to transition to 155 mm shells, the main caliber used by NATO countries. All equipment that is procured and supplied under this program will be adapted to NATO standards. These shells will most likely be produced by Artem State Joint Stock Holding Company. We also plan to produce 5.45 mm to 14.5 mm cartridges at the Defense Ministry’s expense,” the report said.
