Assad’s cousin arrested for not providing money to the regime to repay Russian loan
Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has placed his cousin Rami Makluf under house arrest after his refusal to provide money to the regime.
The news outlet Al Quds Al Arabi writes that Rami Makluf, who now lives in Russia, asked his businessmen sons to send money to Assad, but they refused. Assad then opened an investigation against the companies owned by his cousins, some of Syria's most powerful businessmen.
