Hungary to provide about $100 million of financial support to Ukraine

Péter Szijjártó, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary announced a package of financial support for Ukraine in the amount of about $100 million.  

“I am pleased to announce the allocation of a $50 million loan to Ukraine to upgrade the infrastructure. We also allocate EUR 40 million of irrevocable grants for the agro-industrial complex and farmers of Ukraine who intend to carry out an upgrade [of production facilities],” Szijjártó said.

Another statement by Szijjártó centered on assistance to the families of Ukrainian soldiers who participated in the military operation in the Donbas. The Hungarian Minister also spoke of his intentions to accept for a summer holiday 2,300 children whose parents are at war in the Donbas.
