Moscow denies accusations that Russia was behind DNC hack

The Special Representative of the Russian President for International Cooperation in Information Security, Andrei Krutskikh, criticized Hillary Clinton’s accusations against Russian Security Services. According to him, there is no evidence of their involvement in the server hack.

Moscow states that it takes seriously the US presidential nominee’s accusations, regarding the Russian Security Services’ involvement in the hack of US Democratic Party servers. However, Washington has brought no official claims, Andrei Krutskikh said in an interview with Interfax.

“There is certain contradiction. Claims are brought by the nominees, who compete for the US presidency, and official White House representatives refuse to comment on this or make vague comments. When you get right down to it, it is about an attempt to intervene in internal affairs,” Krutskikh believes.

According to Krutskikh, Hillary Clinton’s unproven claims are a result of her weak position, and were made in order to influence voters. The scandal, triggered by a cyberattack on Democratic National Committee (DNC) servers, emerged after the publication of almost 20,000 emails that were written or received by members of the committee.

WikiLeaks posted the correspondence on July 22. However, information about the hack of DNC servers appeared one month earlier. Hillary Clinton has stated that Russian Security Services are behind the attack.
