Poland asks Hungary not to interfere with Ukraine's integration to NATO

Poland does not agree with Hungary raising the issues it has with Ukraine to the level of cooperation within NATO, said the Polish Ambassador to Ukraine, Jan Pieklo.

“Poland supports Ukraine joining the European Union and NATO. We do not want bilateral issues to be brought to the global level of strategic cooperation within NATO,” he said when asked about the Polish assessment of Hungary’s countering Ukraine’s cooperation with the alliance. The diplomat also added that his statements were not simply his own wishes but Poland’s official position.”

On November 11, 2018, Poland also called on the European Union to punish Russia for holding elections in the territories of the Donbas which are not under Ukraine’s control.
