Ministry of Defence: Russia’s military aggression in Eastern Ukraine continues

Pro-Russian separatists committed 173 breaches of ceasefire agreement in one week, as reported by Andrew Liashenko, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, in his weekly update for the period of August the 28th to September the 3rd. Liashenko specified that 18 out of those 173 violations were committed “with the use of heavy weaponry”.

The geographical breakdown of incidents of separatists opening fire at the Ukrainian armed forces was reported as follows:

  • 108 in the Donetsk sector;
  • 52 in the Mariupol sector;
  • 13 in the Luhansk sector.

The “back-to-school” ceasefire agreement clearly failed!

Liashenko stated that Ukrainian soldiers also recorded 5 incidents of enemy drones conducting aerial surveillance in the ATO (Anti-terrorist-operation) area.

Russia continues to supply separatists in Eastern Ukraine. 2 railway echelons carrying 960 tons of fuel to the separatist occupied territory from Russia were identified, said Liashenko.

2 Ukrainian soldiers and 1 female civilian were wounded during the week.
